4 Things to Do in Chicago in June

With June comes summer, and there’s no question that summertime in Chicago is the best—between live music, nature and sport opportunities, tours, and festivals, there’s so much to see and do that’s fit for the whole family.

This June 2018, in particular, brings tons of fun of activities, so it’s easy to quickly fill your itinerary when planning a trip to Chicago this summer. Here are 5 awesome ways to experience Chicago in June this year. (And, here are some exciting ways to spend time outdoors in Chicago, in general.)

Celebrate Dad with Father’s Day Specials

Chicago is known for its rich dining scene, and there are plenty of restaurants on OpenTable that are participating in Father’s Day specials. You can book a reservation for brunch, lunch, or dinner on Father’s Day (June 17th), and bring the whole family together to celebrate the big man in the house. A tip? Try the Albert right off of Magnificent Mile for Father’s Day Brunch.

Adult Zoo Night

If you are traveling without the kids, head to Lincoln Park Zoo on June 7th for Adult Zoo Night. You must be 18 to enter and 21+ to drink (there’s a cash bar), but there will be lots of animal chats and viewing, as well as and live, educational entertainment. Be sure to get tickets in the advance, or try a Series Pass, to attend each one this summer.

Pride Festival

Celebrate gay and lesbian pride at Pride Fest June 16th-17th, for a fun-packed weekend that will take over the entire city. While you can venture into any neighborhood, there will be a selective performance and festival that features dance music and art and craft vendors right on Halsted and Waveland Avenue. A tip? Head to Boystown for the ultimate experience—it can get wild!

Taste of Randolph

Looking for some tasty bites along Randolph Street in West Loop, from some of Chicago’s top chefs? The Taste of Randolph Street Festival from June 15th-17th has you covered. Spanning six blocks, you’ll find restaurant booths set up, along with live music, where you can taste a bit of everything. With over 16 restaurants, it’ll take you on a culinary adventure.
