The holidays in Chicago are really special. If you’re lucky enough to head to the windy city for your celebrations, you’ll want to take in all that magic and make some wonderful memories with your loved ones.
Plus, there are tons of activities to do for all ages, so whether you’re doing an adults-only trip, or you’re bringing along some kiddos, there’s something to do for everyone. Here are a few great ways to explore Chicago this holiday season and start filling up that photo album with some happy, festive pictures.
See A Comedy Show
Chicago is known for its rich culture in the arts, and comedy is no exception. Between Second City and a few other local comedy clubs, like Laugh Out Loud Theater, there are so many performances to choose from. And, there’s no better time to sit back and get a few laughs in that during the holidays with your family and friends. Plus, you can choose between kid-friendly shows and adult-only ones, too, depending on your crowd.
Go To Navy Pier
This holiday season in Chicago, there are many events going on at Navy Pier, where you can celebrate this special time and take on some new adventures. For instance, head indoors starting on December 2nd to experience Fifth Third Bank Winter WonderFest, a family-friendly spectacle that runs until January 8th. You can also take a ride on the Centennial Ferris Wheel and take in a great view of the Lakefront. What’s more, there are a lot of wonderful shops around the pier, and some hotels even have shopping packages available for when you book a room.
See A Christmas Show
Kids (and adults) love Christmas, so it’s the perfect time to get tickets to a show that is full of caroling magic and Santa attire. Head to the Music Box Theatre for the Music Box Christmas Show, where you can watch classics like White Christmas and It’s A Wonderful Life. Be sure to grab tickets between December 9th and the 24th.
Go To The Zoo
Be sure to stop by the Lincoln Park Zoo this holiday season for ZooLights, which takes place in December and features over two million lights twinkling across trees and fences for a beautiful, festive display. What’s more, you can also enjoy ice carving with the family and a warm cup of hot cocoa. It’ll close January 1st so be sure to act early!
